About Us

The Ballarat Autism Network

In 1999, a group of parents and professionals, recognising a growing need for education and awareness in autism, formed the Ballarat Autism Network.
Our primary function was, and remains, to connect the autism community, educate and promote inclusion into the wider community.

  • The network provides support to individuals, families and carers by providing them with the opportunity to network together, share information and provide mutual support for each other.
  • We organise autism specific information sessions throughout the year.
  • We share information on services and resources available in relation to diagnosis, intervention programs and community support services.
  • We collaborate with agencies to provide support for autistic people through creating autism accessible environments.

Our Mission Statement

The Ballarat Autism Network is committed to making a difference to the lives of autistic people and families living with autism and to creating a level of acceptance that will lead to an inclusive community.

Committee

The Ballarat Autism Network is a voluntary group consisting of a group of parents with an autistic family member, professionals from specialist agencies, autistic individuals, and interested members of the community.

Committee members come and go depending on their capacity in their busy lives, and availability to commit time and energy so if you would like to be part of this small but dedicated group of volunteers, we would love to hear from you.

Our wonderful volunteers are dedicated to a more inclusive world that accepts autism as part of the fabric of society. Come and join us!
