In 1999, a group of parents and professionals, recognising a growing need for education and awareness in autism, formed the Ballarat Autism Network.
Our primary function was, and remains, to connect the autism community, educate and promote inclusion into the wider community. We are all volunteers and we are not a service provider.
Mission:
The Ballarat Autism Network connects the Autistic community promoting acceptance, inclusion, and community education.
Aims:
The Ballarat Autism Network is committed to making a difference to the lives of autistic people and families living with autism and to creating a level of acceptance that will lead to an inclusive community.
The Ballarat Autism Network is a voluntary group consisting of a group of parents with an autistic family member, professionals from specialist agencies, autistic individuals, and interested members of the community.
Committee members come and go depending on their capacity in their busy lives, and availability to commit time and energy so if you would like to be part of this small but dedicated group of volunteers, we would love to hear from you.
Our wonderful volunteers are dedicated to a more inclusive world that accepts autism as part of the fabric of society. Come and join us!
